Keeping the kitchen organized while camping

While we are camping, we cook most meals at our campsite or at a picnic areas. This saves us a lot of money. It also gives us some flexibility with our meals as we don't have to worry about where we're eating or what time. Plus most places we've camped don't have restaurants nearby, especially for lunch.

We have a 15 qt bin that we use to store some of our "kitchen" main items. This includes:

  • can opener

  • salt & pepper

  • hot pads

  • lighters

  • bag with eating utensils

  • storage bag with storage bags sized snack-gallon

  • cozies

  • bottle opener

  • matches

  • Hand sanitizer

  • Wet ones

  • Bag with trash bags

  • Camp soap

  • Tin foil

  • Oven mitten

  • Towels

  • Hot chocolate

  • For short trips, we'll also have our coffee in here as well.

This bin is always assessable in the van. It's the first thing we pull out when we're getting ready for a meal. After we are done eating, we pack everything back in the bin, except the towels which we hang up to dry.

It makes meals so much easier to know where all of our primary kitchen items are.

When we return home, we leave this bin as is. Before leaving on our next adventure, we restock any items that need to be restocked.
