Mongolian Beef and Broccoli

We love this dish at home and it's become a staple when camping as well. We've played with the recipe a few times. We've marinated the meat in a zip-lock bag, then frozen it. Brought the other ingredients and put it together at while on the trip. We've also cooked the meal, frozen it, and just heated it up. I prefer just freezing the marinating meat, but it diffidently depends on space. This meal goes well with minute rice. We never have leftovers with this meal!

Directions

Pre-mix meat marinade, add steak sliced thin and freeze prior to your trip.

Salt steak and place in Zip-Lock bag with marinade.

4 teaspoons - Cornstarch

2 tablespoons - Soy sauce

4 teaspoons Rice wine vinager

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Pre-mix and bring with (I have small square 1/2 cup containers that work perfectly for this)

Container 1:

2 tablespoons - Garlic

1 teaspoon - Ginger

Container 2:

2 tablespoons - Oyster sauce

Soy Sauce

Container 3:

4 tablespoons - Brown Sugar

Container 4:

sesame oil or leave in original bottle if it's small enough

Bring Fresh

Broccoli
8 medium - Green onions

Minute rice

At campground:

Pan 1:
Heat sesame oil in pan, once hot add steak, cook until desired doneness. Take out steak, add scallion whites, garlic and ginger, add broccoli, brown sugar, soy sauce, and oyster sauce. Add beef, stir and cook.

Pan 2:

Boil water for rice and cook according to directions.

This is best eaten in a bowl. Put the rice in a bowl, add the beef broccoli mixture, and top with scallion greens.
